California based global robotics company Genesis AI has appointed Indian-origin executive Pally Kumar as its new Head of Operations, the company announced recently.
In his new role, Kumar is expected to strengthen the company's leadership team as the company accelerates development of its first general-purpose robot.
The appointment was announced alongside the hiring of legal executive Damien Kieran, as the robotics startup expands its operations and talent base.
In his new role, Kumar will oversee the scaling of Genesis AI’s data collection and manufacturing initiatives, the company announced.
It also highlighted plans to build large-scale robotics training datasets through tactile-sensing gloves worn by workers performing everyday tasks, creating what it describes as a vast library of human skills to train advanced robotic systems.

Kumar brings extensive experience in robotics, manufacturing, supply chain management, and operations.
Prior to joining Genesis AI, he served as Director of Manufacturing at robotics company Cobot and previously held leadership positions at Tesla, Amazon, and Lyft.
Commenting on his appointment, Kumar said, "I have spent my career taking hardware from prototypes to scale at Tesla, Amazon and Cobot, and the pattern is always the same."
Kumar continued, "The breakthroughs are real, but the companies that win are the ones that build a strong operational backbone behind them. Genesis is doing the hard things in the right order, and I wanted in."
Kumar expressed excitement for the new role and noted that he was looking forward to developing the foundational operating systems and infrastructure needed to bring the company's ambitious full stack of technology into the real world at scale.
Kumar holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University at Buffalo.
Genesis AI co-founder and CEO Zhou Xian said the company is attracting experienced leaders across artificial intelligence, robotics, operations, and business strategy as it scales rapidly.
The leadership expansion comes as Genesis AI prepares to introduce its first general-purpose robot.
The company recently raised $105 million in seed funding and is backed by investors including Eclipse, Khosla Ventures, Bpifrance, and HSG, along with technology leaders such as Eric Schmidt and Xavier Niel.
Founded as a full-stack robotics company, Genesis AI is developing AI-powered robots designed to perform a broad range of human tasks, positioning itself among a growing group of firms seeking to advance general-purpose robotics.
