Indian-Origin tech-leader Mohak Shroff has been appointed as the President of Platforms and Digital Work at Microsoft.
In his new role, Shroff will lead technology platforms and long-term innovation across LinkedIn & Microsoft Office, with a focus on initiatives shaping the future of work.
Shroff is expected to act as a bridge between the operations of Microsoft and LinkedIn.
He will lead efforts to embed advanced AI into everyday tools, focusing on an “agentic web” approach where AI assistants can handle complex tasks across Microsoft 365 and LinkedIn.
His goal will be to unify these platforms into an AI-first system that helps professionals work more efficiently, collaborate better, and advance their careers.

Talking about the transition, he said on LinkedIn, “A lot has changed since I started at LinkedIn in 2008, when the company was under 200 people. Back then, we were building for a world where the internet lived on computers, not in your pocket. Today, the world of work—and the technology behind it—looks entirely different.”
He continued, “I’m proud of what we’ve built together, and I’m excited to see where they take it next... Still building some amazing and transformative things with an epic team across LinkedIn and Microsoft.”
Shroff, who has previously held engineering roles at Levarage, Oracle and Ariba, joined LinkedIn in 2008. His 18 year career took him from an Engineering Lead to the Senior Vice President of Engineering and now President of Platforms and Digital Work at Microsoft.
Shroff was the VP Engineering, Consumer, when Microsoft acquired LinkedIn in 2016 and then was soon elevated to Vice President, Product Engineering, before becoming the Senior Vice President of Engineering.
Shroff is also a prominent leader in the BAPS community and a frequent attendee of BAPS event.
In a 2023 event at BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham temple at Robbinsville, New Jersey, Shroff highlighted the role of faith in his leadership and success. He shared how he has embodied the idea of servant leadership in the workplace, investing in the success of others.
He also recounted how his path to success came from the idea of purpose, seeing this driving force as a form of service and devotion towards God.
Shroff holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science the University of Texas at Austin.
