The advocacy group Indian American Impact (IA Impact) has voiced “strong support” for U.S. Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi, highlighting his positions on immigration enforcement, economic issues, and opposition to President Donald Trump and the MAGA movement.

IA Impact took to X to extend its support to Krishnamoorthi, and the post comes as his campaign finances have attracted attention during the competitive race for Illinois’ open U.S. Senate seat.

Krishnamoorthi has emerged as the dominant fundraiser in the race, and reports suggest that he has significantly outpaced many rivals in fundraising as candidates compete to succeed retiring Sen. Dick Durbin.

The scale of the Democratic congressman’s fundraising operation has drawn scrutiny from critics and former staffers, who have raised concerns about the intense pressure within campaign fundraising efforts.

IA Impact’s post on X stated that Krishnamoorthi has strong backing among Indian Americans because he is “fighting for the issues that matter most.”

“Raja Krishnamoorthi has strong support from Indian Americans because he’s fighting for the issues that matter most: standing up to Trump, ICE abuses and MAGA extremism while working to lower costs for working families,” wrote IA Impact.

IA Impact also highlighted the importance of leaders like Krishnamoorthi amid the rising hate toward South Asian Americans.

“At a time when South Asian Americans are facing unprecedented levels of hate and suspicion, many people are rallying behind leaders like Raja who not only ensure our community has a seat at the table, but are working to make that table bigger for everyone,” read IA Impact’s post.

IA Impact has previously endorsed Krishnamoorthi and highlighted his leadership on economic opportunity, national security, and representation for South Asian Americans.
