The Democratic nominee for Arizona’s 1st Congressional District Amish Shah, secured endorsements from the Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Arizona, Jewish Dems and the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund.
In response to the support by the law enforcement, Shah pointed to public safety as a priority and said he supports the officers responsible for protecting communities. He also said he would focus on crime, drug trafficking and fentanyl.
I’m proud to have the endorsement of the Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Arizona.

“I’m proud to have the endorsement of the Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Arizona,” Shah said. “As a physician and former state legislator, I’ve always believed that protecting public safety is one of the most important jobs of public servants.”
“I’m grateful to have the trust of Arizona law enforcement officers, and I look forward to continuing to support them in Congress,” he added.
On receiving the support of Jewish Dems, Shah said he would continue working with the Jewish community on combating antisemitism and protecting democracy.
Grateful for the endorsement from @USJewishDems. I remain committed to working with the Jewish community to continue championing our shared values: fighting antisemitism with urgency and safeguarding our nation’s democracy. pic.twitter.com/UoOwwvEkS2

Responding to the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund endorsement, Shah highlighted utility costs and environmental protection.
“I'm committed to working to lower utility costs and protecting our public lands, air, and water,” he said.

The endorsements come after Shah won the Democratic primary for the seat on July 21, defeating Marlene Galán-Woods, who had been backed by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. It was Shah’s second consecutive Democratic primary victory for the district.
Shah, an emergency medicine physician and former Arizona state representative, now faces Republican Jay Feely, a former NFL kicker who won the Republican primary with the backing of President Donald Trump. The two have an unusual connection: Shah previously served as a physician for the New York Jets while Feely was the team’s kicker.
Arizona’s 1st Congressional District, which includes parts of the Phoenix metropolitan area including Scottsdale, Paradise Valley and Fountain Hills, is considered a key Democratic pickup opportunity. The race could have implications for control of the U.S. House.
Shah and Feely will face off in the general election on Nov. 3.
