Vivek Ramaswamy / X (Vivek Ramaswamy)
Ohio Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has raised more than $30 million, the campaign said in its pre-primary filing.
The latest figure brings total fundraising to over $50 million and leaves more than $30 million cash on hand ahead of the May 5 primary.

The filing shows that of the $30 million raised during the reporting period, $5 million came from donors while $25 million was a personal investment by Ramaswamy, matching a financial commitment he pledged last July. The figures do not include funds raised by outside groups.
The campaign in March launched a $10 million statewide advertising effort centered on the message “Lower Costs, Bigger Paychecks, Better Schools,” and has outlined further spending in the months ahead, including major fundraising events across Ohio.
According to campaign data, more than 392,000 donations have been made by over 120,000 unique contributors, with an average contribution of $63. Donations of $200 or less accounted for more than 98 percent of individual contributions.
The campaign said it has already surpassed past gubernatorial fundraising benchmarks in Ohio, including totals reported by Mike DeWine in previous election cycles.
Campaign manager Jonathan Ewing said the fundraising totals were unprecedented in the state. “No gubernatorial campaign in Ohio history has ever put up numbers like this, and it sends a clear message: Ohioans are fired up for Vivek, our campaign is growing, and we will win big in November,” he said.
Ewing also criticized opponent Amy Acton, alleging dishonesty over her record.
The disclosure comes alongside two recent independent polls from Bowling Green State University and Echelon Insights that show Ramaswamy leading the race.
Ramaswamy, a former 2024 Republican presidential candidate, entered the Ohio governor’s race in February 2025 and quickly consolidated support within the party. He secured an early endorsement from President Donald Trump on the day of his campaign launch, followed by backing from the Ohio Republican Party.
More recently, he has added support from local and issue-based groups, including an endorsement from the Cleveland Police Patrolmen’s Association and backing from the Buckeye Firearms Association.
The 2026 Ohio gubernatorial election is scheduled for Nov. 3. DeWine is term-limited, leaving the race open.
