The event comes amid growing demand for Indian mangoes in the United States. According to the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), India's mango exports have expanded to more than 45 countries this season, with shipments to the US already surpassing last year's total before the export season has concluded.
Indian diplomatic missions and export promotion agencies have increasingly organized mango-tasting and promotional events across the United States to boost awareness of Indian fruit exports.
Earlier this month, a similar showcase in Seattle brought together importers, retailers and consumers amid rising interest in Indian mango varieties.
India is the world's largest producer of mangoes, with annual output exceeding 26 million metric tonnes and more than 1,000 known varieties. Kesar, known for its saffron-colored pulp and sweetness, and Langra, prized for its distinctive flavor and aroma, are among the country's most popular export varieties.
