The U.S. Embassy in India has launched a new video series as part of the lead-up to America's 250th Independence Day celebrations, highlighting perspectives on the country's history, values and achievements.
Announcing the initiative on X, the embassy said the series will feature "incredible personalities" sharing "inspiring thoughts on the American story and excellence." New videos will be released weekly under the hashtag #Freedom250.

The campaign is part of the broader America250 initiative, the nationwide commemoration marking 250 years since the signing of the U.S. Declaration of Independence in 1776. The milestone will be observed across the United States on July 4 with public events, educational programs, exhibitions and community celebrations.

The video series is the latest in a series of outreach efforts by the U.S. Embassy in India to mark the anniversary. Earlier this year, U.S. Ambassador to India Sergio Gor launched Freedom250 celebrations in New Delhi by unveiling auto-rickshaws featuring American-themed imagery and messages highlighting the U.S.-India partnership.
At the time, Gor said the initiative would celebrate "the strength and dynamism of the U.S.-India partnership" while bringing the anniversary campaign to communities across India.

The anniversary is also expected to be widely observed by Indian Americans, one of the fastest-growing immigrant communities in the United States. As previously reported, for many families, Independence Day celebrations have become a longstanding tradition, combining participation in local festivities with a recognition of the community's growing contribution to American society.
As the U.S. marks 250 years of independence, the milestone comes at a time when Indian Americans are increasingly represented in business, public service, academia and government across the country.
The U.S. Embassy's latest initiative reflects broader efforts to engage audiences in India as preparations continue for the historic anniversary. Additional details about the video series, including featured speakers and upcoming releases, can be expected to be shared through the embassy's social media platforms in the weeks ahead.
