Indian diplomatic missions across the world organized yoga sessions ahead of the 12th International Day of Yoga, highlighting the importance of holistic health, well-being and inner harmony.
This year's International Day of Yoga, observed on June 21, is being celebrated under the theme "Yoga for Healthy Ageing," emphasizing yoga's role in promoting healthier, more active and fulfilling lives across generations.

In Kuwait, the Embassy of India organized a mass yoga session at the Boulevard Cricket Stadium as part of a three-day Yoga Festival that began on June 19.
According to the embassy, more than 2,200 participants, including diplomats, government officials, community leaders, students and yoga enthusiasts, attended the event.
Among the dignitaries present were Sheikha Shaikha Al Sabah, Padma Shri awardee and president of the Kuwait Yoga Committee, and Nouf Marwaai, Padma Shri awardee, founder of the Arab Yoga Foundation in Saudi Arabia and president of the Asian Yogasana Sports Federation.
In Finland, the Embassy of India and Suomi–Intia Seura, a Finnish-Indian society, jointly organized a Midnight Yoga Session at Ounasvaara in Rovaniemi, located on the Arctic Circle.
"Celebrated under the theme 'Yoga for Healthy Ageing,' the event brought together participants to celebrate the timeless benefits of yoga amidst the unique setting of the Arctic midnight sun," the embassy said in a post on X.
In the Philippines, wellness organization Na Heal, in collaboration with the Embassy of India, conducted a yoga session at the Department of Budget and Management in Manila.
"The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from yoga practitioners. It also marked another meaningful step toward strengthening people-to-people connections, in line with the shared vision of the leadership of India and the Philippines," the embassy posted on X.
Ahead of the global observance, the Indian High Commission and the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre in Suva organized a yoga session at the Fiji Museum.
"The session highlighted the importance of a balanced lifestyle, mental well-being and inner peace through the practice of yoga. Yoga is not just an exercise but a way of living a healthy and harmonious life," the High Commission said.
In Colombia, the Embassy of India in Bogota organized a special yoga session for professionals working at the Cusezar Building.
"Participants practiced yoga, experiencing the benefits of this ancient Indian discipline for physical health, mental well-being and inner balance," the embassy said in a social media post.
Meanwhile, in Armenia, the Embassy of India, in collaboration with the Tovmasyan Foundation and Luys Yoga Studio, organized a yoga session during which participants performed 108 Surya Namaskars, or Sun Salutations.
In the United States, Indian missions organized yoga events in several cities, including Seattle and New York.
"Seattle prepares for 12th IDY! As we approach the 12th International Day of Yoga on June 21, yoga sessions were held at iconic Seattle locations from the Space Needle to the Pacific Science Center to the Seattle Waterfront," the Consulate General of India in Seattle posted on X.
In New York, the Consulate General of India partnered with Bronx Community College to organize a yoga session involving students ahead of the annual celebration.
The International Day of Yoga is observed every year on June 21 following its adoption by the United Nations in 2014. The initiative, proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has since grown into a global movement promoting physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
