Sreekanth Reddy, a candidate for Place 5 on the Frisco City Council, is positioning his campaign around managed growth, infrastructure planning, and transparency as the city heads into a competitive municipal election.
In recent campaign outreach, including a social media post, Reddy said Frisco’s growth must be planned carefully to avoid strain on roads, schools, and public services.

“Frisco is growing fast, and we need to make sure that growth works for everyone,” he said, adding that his approach centers on infrastructure, fiscal responsibility, and transparent decision-making.
Reddy, a Frisco resident, said his candidacy is rooted in concerns over how rapid development affects daily life. He pointed to traffic congestion and pressure on city services as key challenges, arguing that growth should align with infrastructure capacity.
“Frisco’s future depends on how wisely we grow, not just how fast,” he said, adding that unplanned expansion risks “more traffic, crowded schools, and pressure on our quality of life.”
His campaign emphasizes an “infrastructure-first” approach, calling for roads, utilities, and public safety systems to be in place before major development is approved. He also stressed the need for data-driven planning and long-term budgeting to maintain financial stability.
Reddy outlined a set of priorities focused on managing growth, maintaining fiscal discipline, and strengthening public services. His platform calls for development aligned with infrastructure capacity, data-driven planning using traffic and population trends, and improvements to roads, intersections, and pedestrian safety.
On fiscal policy, he has proposed conservative, forecast-driven budgeting, protecting reserves and bond ratings, and clearer reporting on major city spending. His public safety agenda includes support for police, fire, and emergency services, maintaining response times, and investment in training and facilities.
Reddy also emphasized economic development and local business support, including business-friendly policies, workforce development, and long-term partnerships.
Reddy said public safety and community input will remain central to his platform.
“Public safety, smart planning, and putting our community first will always guide my approach,” he said.
He also framed his run as focused on local governance rather than broader political agendas.
“I am not running to advance a political agenda. I am running to protect Frisco’s quality of life today while planning responsibly for tomorrow,” he said.
Reddy is among three candidates contesting the Place 5 seat in the general election, alongside incumbent Laura Rummel and Vijay Karthik, according to city and local election filings. The election will also include races for mayor and Place 6.
Early voting is scheduled from April 20 to April 28, with Election Day on May 2.
