Senators voice concerns on India-Russia ties, China optics

Members of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee praised India as a vital partner but also raised pointed concerns about its oil trade with Russia, its presence alongside Beijing, and barriers to American trade during Sergio Gor's confirmation hearing as Ambassador to India.

India dominated the questioning at a Senate Foreign Relations Committee session that considered the nomination of Sergio Gor, a close aide of President Donald Trump, to be the next U.S. Ambassador to New Delhi.
