The Sri Panchamukha Hanuman Temple in Dublin, California was burglarized during the wee hours of Sept. 7, CBS News reported.
The break-in occurred at around 4:00 a.m. local time with the thieves reportedly getting away with cash and jewellery worth approximately $34,000.
As per the Dublin Police, no evidence was found at the site that would point to the attack being religiously motivated. However, investigations are underway.
The temple is a Hindu place of worship dedicated to the five-faced Lord Hanuman and holds various religious activities, festivals, and cultural events. The presiding deity of the temple is Sri Panchamukha Hanuman and is accompanied by Sri Lakshmi Ganapathi, Sri Rajarajeswara Swamy, Sri Rama Parivar and Navagraha deities.
This incident, even though not marked as a hate crime by the police, is the second time the temple was targeted in recent times. Last year, the same temple was allegedly targeted by attackers.
Anyone with information about the burglary was asked to contact Dublin Police Services at (925) 833-6670.
