Departing White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced Aug. 21 that she will join a pro-Trump political fundraising group when she leaves her post at the end of the month.

The 28-year-old spokeswoman will re-join MAGA Inc., a pro-Trump "super PAC," or political action committee.

Such organizations can raise unlimited money and then use it to influence elections, including through advertising, as long as they do not directly coordinate with candidates and their official campaigns.

Leavitt told journalists that she would still join the president at a Republican convention in Dallas, Texas, in early September, ahead of November's midterm elections.

She previously worked for MAGA Inc. from 2022 to 2024 before joining Trump's campaign team.

Asked about a successor to Leavitt, the youngest person ever to hold the position of White House press secretary, Trump said he had "never had so many job applications in my life."

Leavitt, who gave birth to her second child in early May, announced on August 12 that she was leaving her position to devote more time to her family.
