For Suman Shah, a recipe is rarely just a recipe. It can carry the memory of a grandmother’s kitchen, the wisdom of generations and the stories of a culture, all through the simple act of sharing a meal.

Shah spoke with New India Abroad about her new role, her journey from communications and advertising to food education, and how Indian culinary traditions can open the door to conversations that go far beyond the kitchen.
