New Jersey to celebrate ‘Festival of Lights’ on October 19

The Borough of Sayreville will celebrate its annual Festival of Lights with music, food and fireworks.

The Borough of Sayreville will host its annual ‘Festival of Lights’ on Oct. 19, 2025, at J.F. Kennedy Park, 807 Washington Road, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. 

The event, originally scheduled earlier, has been rescheduled due to weather conditions. Admission and parking are free.

Organized by Sayreville Recreation and Cultural Arts, the festival marks an International Day Celebration featuring performances, food vendors, and fireworks. The evening will conclude with a giant fireworks display between 8 and 9 p.m., according to event organizers.

The program will include performances by over 100 dance crew members, along with appearances by Miss New Jersey 2025 Asmi Kaushal, Miss India USA 2024 Manini Patel, and singer Kristen Pettett Rickards. Several local dance groups, including BollyMoves Dance Academy and Dance4Ever, are also expected to perform.

Visitors can explore the food court featuring over 60 varieties of vendors offering international cuisine. A kids’ play zone and craft booths will also be available throughout the day.

The event is sponsored by Patel Brothers and Amboy Bank, with additional support from local businesses and community organizations including ShopRite, Suhag Jewelers, Columbia Bank, and The Indian Panorama.
