For Baljit Singh Chadha, a leading businessman of Montreal, and his wife, Mandeep Kaur (Roshi) Chadha, the experience of working on an important illustrated book related to Sikhism, titled Sri Harmandir Sahib: A Comprehensive Study of Heritage, Significance and Conservation, with two reknowned contemporary photojournalists – Raghu Rai and Gurmeet Kaur Sangha Rai – was like a dream come true.
Chadha was one of the first businessmen of Indian origin who organized an introductory party for Mark Carney in his election as the leader of the Liberal Party for the post of Prime Minister after Justin Trudeau had announced his decision to quit.
Their efforts bore fruit as they traveled all the way from Montreal to New Delhi this week to present a first set of their books to Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri.
The books, says Baljit Singh Chadha, “are a comprehensive study of heritage, significance and conservatism”.
