A 26-year-old Microsoft employee, Nandini Sharma, has sparked discussion among netizens with her views on what it takes to succeed in a cutthroat corporate world, especially for young professionals at the start of their careers.
Sharma highlighted conventional ideas such as hard work and consistency as irreplaceable cornerstones of a successful corporate life. She also remarked that, much like money, hard work compounds over time.

In her post, she described the early 20s as a crucial phase in a person’s life. She said, “You’ll never have more time, energy, and fewer responsibilities than you do now. Once corporate life starts, responsibilities grow — work, family, expectations.”
Another key message in her post was that other people are not as worried or concerned about you as one might think. She argued that people are busy with their own lives, and realizing this gave her the confidence to work on skills she once feared pursuing and to take chances.
The final advice she offered to professionals starting their careers was a stark reminder that nothing other than a person’s own work ultimately helps them succeed. She said, “No one is coming to save you. Not your background. Not your degree. Not even your company name. If you want a better career, lifestyle, or confidence — you have to earn it daily.”
She concluded her post by encouraging IT professionals from tier-2 and tier-3 cities who aspire to achieve more, reassuring them, “You are not alone.” She added, “After joining Microsoft, I thought ‘this is it.’ But growth doesn’t stop at job offers. I’m still figuring life out — career, fitness, content, purpose.”
