The organization explained that Krishnamoorthi understands that Social Security and Medicare are crucial to solving the affordability crisis, which is a key issue of the upcoming election, with seniors being particularly vulnerable to inflation.

Speaking about the endorsement, Max Richtman, National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare-PAC Board, said: “As a member of the U.S. House, Rep. Krishnamoorthi has earned a lifetime 100 percent rating on our scorecard for casting votes to defend and enhance Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.”

“He has built up a record that seniors can trust, and in the Senate he will continue his fight to improve Social Security, lower prescription drug costs and roll back the disastrous agenda that Trump and Republicans have pushed through Congress,” he added.

Krishnamoorthi extended his gratitude to the organization for its support, mentioning he will “continue to fight” for the cause and said, “After a lifetime of work, Illinois seniors deserve to retire with security and dignity — and Social Security and Medicare are the bedrock programs that make that possible.”

“In the U.S. Senate, I will continue to fight to eliminate taxes on Social Security benefits and expand Medicare’s power to drive down prescription drug costs. I’m proud to have the support of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare as we work to protect and strengthen these programs for generations to come,” he concluded.

The National Committee further mentioned that Krishnamoorthi has been a strong ally over the years, and it looks forward to partnering with him next year in the Senate on an agenda that will protect seniors’ earned benefits and bring down costs.

Krishnamoorthi is running for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Senator Dick Durbin. He won the first Illinois Democratic U.S. Senate primary debate, with the elections slated for November 2026.
