Indian-origin Purdue researchers develop AI privacy tool

The team said it is working to expand the system to protect additional sensitive information.

Vaneet Aggarwal, Dipesh Tamboli, and Vineet Punyamoorty, three researchers of Indian origin at Purdue University, have developed a system designed to protect personal images when they are edited using generative artificial intelligence tools.

The tool is used before and after photos are uploaded to AI editing platforms. The research is patent pending and has been published in the peer reviewed journal IEEE Transactions on Artificial Intelligence.
