Living Tamil LitFest to take place in NYC / X/@artisuch
The Living Tamil LitFest 2026, an initiative organized by the Vishnupuram Literary Circle (VLC) to bring contemporary Tamil literary works to a global audience, is set to take place in New York City on April 3 and April 4.
The event, which will take place at the Education and Conference Center, New York Academy of Medicine (NYAM), aims to highlight the variety of Tamil writing through a series of discussions, readings, and cultural exchanges.

As a celebration of Tamil literary heritage that bridges Tamil and global literature, the event includes sessions designed to make classic and contemporary works accessible to a broad audience.
The two-day festival will feature about 15 discussion sessions, author meet-and-greets, autograph opportunities and literary dialogues conducted with real-time English translation to ensure wide participation.

According to information on the event’s official website, the festival will bring together about 50 scholars, authors, poets, translators and publishers from various regions to explore both the historical roots and modern evolution of Tamil literature.
The LitFest’s advisory committee includes A. Muttulingam, Jeyamohan, Arun Mahizhnan and Arangasamy K.V.
Along with an expected 300 attendees from various backgrounds, the festival will also feature a long list of guest speakers from across the world, including Damion Searls from Minnesota, Janika Oza from Toronto, Giridharan Rajagopalan from London, Aravin Kumar from Malaysia, Azhagunila Panchaksharam from Singapore, Sayanthan from Switzerland and Yuvan Chandrasekar from India, among several others.
