The India Philanthropy Forum (IPF) will take place in New York this September on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) week, hosted by Dasra at the Yale Club.
The event follows last year’s Dasra Philanthropy Forum and marks the 11th edition of the gathering. Organizers said the forum is rooted in the ethos of “India for the World, the World for India” and will bring together philanthropists, foundation leaders, social entrepreneurs, academics, NGO heads, and global development experts.
“IPF NYC 2025 will convene a dynamic community of philanthropists, foundation leaders, social entrepreneurs, academics, NGO heads, and global development experts to shape a shared vision for inclusive and lasting impact,” Indiaspora said in a statement.
The discussions will spotlight philanthropy’s role in India’s development, including its influence on India’s goals for 2047. Themes will cover gender-intentional giving, the growing role of women in philanthropy, and the importance of indigenous knowledge in climate action. Other focus areas include strengthening India’s mental health ecosystem, scaling up effective giving, and exploring inclusive social innovation through technology and artificial intelligence.
Organizers said the forum also aims to amplify grassroots leadership while highlighting India’s position as an emerging hub for social innovation. “It will spotlight transformative approaches to philanthropy – elevating India’s growing role as a global hub for social innovation, amplifying grassroots leadership, and exploring how Indian and South Asian diaspora can strengthen community resilience locally while building bridges globally,” the statement noted.
Speakers will include Indiaspora Founder and Chairman M.R. Rangaswami, along with leaders from the philanthropic and social development sectors.
The forum is scheduled to be held at the Yale Club, 50 Vanderbilt Avenue, New York.
