HAF warned that the lack of clarity could leave families split across continents, with children unable to reunite with parents, spouses stranded on opposite sides of the world.

The Hindu American Foundation (HAF) on Sept. 20 pressed the White House to urgently clarify President Donald Trump’s proclamation on the H-1B visa program, warning that vague language and immediate enforcement were sowing panic among Indian and Hindu American communities.

In a statement, HAF said the proclamation, unveiled Sept. 19, had triggered widespread fear, particularly among Indian nationals and Hindu Americans who hold H-1B visas or await processing. The organisation cited “needlessly vague wording” and the “unilateral and immediate effect” of the measure as major causes of confusion.
