The Hindu American Foundation (HAF) on Sept. 20 pressed the White House to urgently clarify President Donald Trump’s proclamation on the H-1B visa program, warning that vague language and immediate enforcement were sowing panic among Indian and Hindu American communities.
In a statement, HAF said the proclamation, unveiled Sept. 19, had triggered widespread fear, particularly among Indian nationals and Hindu Americans who hold H-1B visas or await processing. The organisation cited “needlessly vague wording” and the “unilateral and immediate effect” of the measure as major causes of confusion.
