Ohio Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy received an endorsement from the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF), adding to a growing list of political and institutional backing in the 2026 race.

In a statement shared by Ramaswamy on social media, executive director of NRA-PVF, John Commerford said the group’s support was tied to the candidate’s position on gun rights.

“Across America, radical progressive groups are waging an all-out war on the Second Amendment. Now, more than ever, gun owners must engage in the political process to defend our God-given rights. Vivek Ramaswamy has proven himself a fierce, unwavering champion of the Second Amendment, and Ohioans can trust that he will stand as an ironclad defender of their right to keep and bear arms,” Commerford said.

The endorsement comes as Ramaswamy consolidates support within Republican ranks. He entered the race in February 2025 after a bid for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination and secured backing from President Donald Trump on the day he launched his campaign.

He has since been endorsed by the Ohio Republican Party in an early vote, as well as by Mike DeWine, who is term-limited and cannot seek re-election.

Beyond party support, Ramaswamy has also drawn endorsements from labor groups, including the Ohio Conference of Teamsters and several construction trade unions, marking a departure from their typical alignment.

Financially, his campaign has reported record fundraising. Ramaswamy raised more than $19.5 million in 2025, including $9.88 million in the second half of the year, setting a new benchmark for gubernatorial candidates in Ohio.

The 2026 Ohio gubernatorial election is scheduled to be held on Nov. 3.
