Founder reveals why she left Wall Street for wellness

After years in finance, the Indian-origin founder left banking to study yoga, meditation, and Ayurvedic science full-time.

A career in finance, a personal health challenge, and a decisive shift toward traditional practices set the foundation for Prerna Khemka’s move from Wall Street to building a global hair wellness brand.

After years in banking, Khemka stepped away to study yoga, meditation, and Ayurvedic science full-time, later becoming a certified practitioner, eventually launching HairSmart, a hair wellness brand offering solutions that combine Ayurveda with light-based therapy.

“My path to HairSmart wasn't a straight line — but it was a homecoming,” Khemka said in a press release.
