Children’s Hope India (CHI) will recognize distinguished leaders in business, finance, education, and social work at its 32nd annual fundraising gala on Oct. 12.
This year’s honorees include Nitin Rakesh, CEO and managing director of Mphasis, who will receive the 'Lotus Award'; M.R. Rakesh, whose company Mphasis has championed technology-driven social initiatives, said he was “humbled” by the recognition. “We believe in using technology to create equitable opportunities and drive sustainable progress,” he said, adding that Mphasis Foundation’s ‘Tech for Good’ initiatives aim to uplift underprivileged communities through innovation and inclusion.
Rangaswami, recognized for his philanthropic leadership through Indiaspora, said, “I am deeply honored to receive the 'Special Impact Award' and grateful to CHI for their incredible work. Their commitment to empowering underprivileged children is truly transformative.”
“The gala honors leaders whose work reflects our Whole Child approach, which supports children through education, health, and emotional well-being,” said Dina Pahlajani, co-founder and president of CHI.
Hosted at Pier 60, Chelsea Piers in New York City, the gala will support CHI’s long-standing mission to empower children in India through programs in education, healthcare, nutrition, and skill development.
The evening will feature a cocktail reception, a catered dinner by Benares restaurant, and performances by Battery Dance. Anu Sehgal of The Culture Tree will serve as master of ceremonies, and CK Swett will lead a live auction to raise funds for CHI’s ongoing programs.
Founded more than three decades ago, Children’s Hope India has supported hundreds of thousands of children through its education and health initiatives. The organization continues to focus on creating pathways from poverty to prosperity for India’s most vulnerable youth.
