Dear editor,
My main concern is that newcomers are overlooking the current economic realities of Canada. If industries continue to contract and growth remains stagnant, it will be increasingly difficult for new arrivals to find stable employment and integrate successfully.
Since 79% of Canada’s exports go to the U.S., key sectors such as automotive, furniture, steel, and lumber have been heavily impacted by tariffs and trade restrictions. If these challenges persist and Canadian industries are forced to slow down or close due to U.S. sanctions or reduced* *demand, it raises a serious concern* — *where will the jobs come from, especially for new immigrants and Indian professionals planning to come to Canada*?
Many young people from India are preparing to move to Canada, yet most are not being given a clear and realistic picture by immigration consultants about the current* *economic challenges and employment situation*. *Without robust industrial growth and export opportunities, Canadian companies will struggle to sustain operations, leading to fewer job openings and a weaker economy overall.
Another worrying development is the rise in anti-immigrant rallies across parts of Canada. Having been here myself more than 5 Decades*, *I have not seen such visible frustration and resentment toward immigrants before.
