Australia's Flinders University to open Bengaluru campus
The university said further details on admissions, application timelines and the Bengaluru campus will be announced later this year.

Flinders University of South Australia is set to establish its first international campus in Bengaluru following approval from India's University Grants Commission (UGC).
The development was announced during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Australia. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced the news as part of a series of agreements reached between the two countries during the visit.

With classes scheduled to begin in early 2027, the Bengaluru campus will offer undergraduate and postgraduate programs in business and technology, including degrees in business, computer science and information technology, as well as a master of information technology and an MBA (future business).
The university said the programs are designed to provide students with industry-linked opportunities in Bengaluru's technology and innovation ecosystem.
Flinders vice-chancellor Colin Stirling described the approval as a significant milestone in the university's international expansion.
“Our Bengaluru campus will bring a Flinders education into a place where ideas and innovation, technology and entrepreneurship are translated into real-world impact every day,” Stirling said. He added that students at the Bengaluru campus would receive the same academic standards and industry-focused education as those studying at the university's Australian campuses.
The new campus will also create exchange opportunities for Australian students, allowing them to study in one of the world's leading centres for information technology, biotechnology, software services and life sciences. Flinders said students from both countries would benefit from greater international exposure and stronger industry connections.
The university said the initiative supports India's National Education Policy 2020, which encourages leading international universities to establish campuses in the country to expand access to higher education.
Flinders already maintains partnerships with several Indian institutions, including engineering programs in Kerala, artificial intelligence research collaborations in Gujarat and a strategic partnership with the University of Hyderabad focused on digital healthcare research.
