In a welcome move, the Canadian government announced its decision not to deport international students, who are victims of immigration fraud. The Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship of Canada, Sean Fraser used his discretionary power to provide relief to students , who are cheated by the certain education recruiters.
In a statement, the Minister explicitly announced, “I want to make it clear that international students who are not found to be involved in fraud will not face deportation. The Immigration Refugee Protection Act offers me discretionary authority which I believe should be exercised in the present context.”
