Ayurveda conference convenes global experts in California

Practitioners, scholars, and policymakers in Ayurveda convened on March 20 for the 2026 conference of the California Association of Ayurvedic Medicine (CAAM), a three-day event highlighting the growing global interest in traditional Indian systems of medicine.
The conference, titled “Conscious Health with Ayurveda Luminaries,” is being held from March 20 to 22 in Milpitas, California, with both in-person and virtual participation.

CAAM has described its international conference as a gathering “where ancient wisdom meets modern insight.”
With the theme for this edition being ‘Luminary,’ CAAM, a nonprofit professional organization that aims to promote, advance and safeguard the practice of Ayurveda in California, explained:
“This year’s theme, Luminary, celebrates the guiding light within each of us—our ability to transform knowledge into wisdom, ambition into purpose, and healing into collective brilliance.”
A post on X by the Consulate General of India in San Francisco noted that Abhishek Sharma, consul for economic affairs and visa, inaugurated the conference alongside David Frawley, Vedic scholar and Ayurveda expert; Bhushan Patwardhan, Ayurveda researcher and former vice chairman of the University Grants Commission, India; and Anand Kuchibhotla of Aria University.

Sharma underscored India’s continued efforts to promote Ayurveda globally, including initiatives by the Ministry of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy), and highlighted its growing relevance in integrative health care.
The event features lectures, panel discussions and experiential sessions led by prominent Ayurveda practitioners and researchers.
Topics range from integrative medicine and mental health to applications of Ayurveda in the digital age, reflecting an effort to bridge traditional knowledge with modern scientific and technological contexts.
For those attending in person, the conference includes a lineup of Ayurveda luminaries sharing talks, panels and guided sessions, along with 15 PACE (Professional Ayurvedic Continuing Education) credits approved by the National Ayurvedic Medical Association, with certification provided upon request.
Ayurvedic meals will also be provided.
The conference also offers attendees access to the CAAM Ayurveda Mela (marketplace), featuring curated vendors, brands and artisans, along with community circles and networking opportunities with practitioners and peers.
For online attendees, full virtual access is provided to all main conference sessions through livestream, along with participation in interactive Q&A sessions and access to recordings after the event.
