San Francisco event focuses on evidence-based Ayurveda

CAAM hosts Ayurveda Evidence-Based Medicine event in San Francisco / X/@CGISFO
The California Association of Ayurvedic Medicine (CAAM) organized a ‘Gateway for Evidence-Based Medicine in Ayurveda’ event, bringing together practitioners, researchers and community members at the UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Health in San Francisco.
CAAM is a nonprofit professional organization that aims to promote, advance, and safeguard the practice of Ayurveda in California.
The San Francisco event is part of the organization’s wider efforts to build awareness and foster a unified Ayurveda community in the region.
An official post by the Consulate General of India in San Francisco on X mentioned that Consul General K. Srikar Reddy was in attendance at the event as the chief guest.
Reddy emphasized the growing popularity of Ayurveda in California’s integrative health care ecosystem, underscoring India’s efforts to promote Ayurveda globally through initiatives like the National Ayush Mission and collaboration with the World Health Organization.
The event, moderated by CAAM’s Manju Kolli, featured a range of panelists from India and the U.S., including Anand Dhruva and Sudha Pathikanti from the UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Health, Rammohan Rao from Apollo Health, and Bhushan Patwardhan and Girish Tillu from Pune, India.

The panelists highlighted Ayurveda’s expanding role in integrative care, including mental health, Alzheimer’s disease, and cancer (palliative care).
They also called for stronger India-U.S. collaboration in integrative clinical research.
The event also marked 20 years of Ayurveda services at the UCSF Osher Center.
