I’ve been informed that my name appeared in the Minnesota assassination suspect’s notes. My thoughts are with the victims and their families. Political violence has no place in America — full stop.

Vance Boelter, 57, is accused of assassinating Melissa Hortman, the top Democrat in the Minnesota House, and her husband, Mark, in their home on June 14. He faces state and federal murder charges after he was arrested on June 15 night. Boelter is also charged with shooting and wounding another Democratic lawmaker, state Senator John Hoffman, and his wife Yvette, in their home a few miles away.
After his arrest, the authorities found a large quantity of text material in Boelter’s vehicle and at his home, leading to speculation that the attacks have been under works for several months.
Krishnamoorthi extended support to the victims of the violent attack and said, “This brutal attack was devastating and terrifying on many levels. Priya and I have spent much of the last few days thinking about Rep. Hortman and her husband Mark, as well as Sen. Hoffman and his wife Yvette.”
In the statement that was also shared on X, Krishnamoorthi added, “Political violence has no place in America — full stop. Even in this time of great division, we should all agree on that.”
