The US Senate on Sept.9 returned several high-profile diplomatic nominations to committee, including those of Indian Americans Dr. Paul Kapur to serve as Assistant Secretary of State for South Asian Affairs and Anjani Sinha as U.S. Ambassador to Singapore. Among other high-profile nominations are former National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, as US Ambassador to the United Nations.
The action, which sends the nominations back to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, effectively delays their confirmation and requires the White House to decide whether to resubmit them.
