Aman J. Bedi shortlisted for inaugural Aldiss Award in speculative fiction

Indian-origin author’s novel ‘Kavithri’ joins five other titles in the running for world-building prize.

Aman J. Bedi, an Indian-origin writer born in Mysuru, has been shortlisted for the inaugural Aldiss Award for World Building in speculative fiction. His novel ‘Kavithri’, an epic fantasy rooted in South Asian traditions and myth, is among six works competing for the honor.

The Aldiss Award, named after science fiction Grand Master Brian Aldiss, seeks to recognize outstanding world-building across science fiction and fantasy. The winner will be announced on Nov.2, 2025, at the World Fantasy Convention in Brighton, UK, and will receive a commemorative engraved bookend.
