High-performance cricket center to come up in Austin
New facility combines indoor technology-equipped center with outdoor fields to expand youth cricket in Texas

In a landmark move for U.S. cricket, a state-of-the-art training facility will soon open in Austin, dedicated to developing youth talent and grooming the sport’s next generation.
The new center is the result of a partnership between Super Kings Academy (SKA), the youth development arm of Indian Premier League franchise Chennai Super Kings, and Austin-based WCI Academy.

Austin HPC players / WCI AcademyThe center will include a 22-yard indoor facility in Leander, founded by Kalyan Jarajapu, to enable year-round training regardless of weather conditions. In addition, outdoor cricket fields at Williamson County Park in North Austin will offer match-standard playing conditions for practice and competition.
“This High Performance Center under Super Kings Academy in Austin will serve as a beacon for aspiring cricketers, giving them unparalleled opportunities to train, compete, and thrive,” said Vignesh L, head coach of SKA (TX) and former Tamil Nadu Ranji Trophy player.

Alok Singh, corporate leader, Level-4 Elite coach, and founder of WCI Academy, said the collaboration is intended to raise the standard of coaching in the U.S. “Together, we are setting bold new standards in cricket coaching and laying the foundation for a legacy of excellence. This center will not only refine talent but also ignite a lasting passion for the game at higher levels,” he said.
Coach with Vignesh with players / WCI AcademyWCI Academy’s Austin Blasters team has competed in national-level age-group competitions, while its nonprofit arm, Cricket4All.org, focuses on making cricket accessible to young players from diverse backgrounds. The academy will continue this approach as part of the partnership.
The initiative is also expected to strengthen links with schools, universities, and local organizations, with the aim of embedding cricket more firmly in Central Texas. Organizers said Austin’s growing multicultural population provides a strong base to position the city as an emerging hub for the sport in the United States.
