The US Congress has a new channel to engage with India. On Sept.2, the Association of Former Members of Congress (FMC) launched the Congressional Study Group on India (CSGI), underscoring the growing weight of the bilateral partnership at a time when the relationship is at an all-time low.
The bipartisan initiative, co-chaired by Rep. Deborah Ross (D-NC) and Rep. Rob Wittman (R-VA), will provide members of Congress and senior staff with opportunities to deepen their understanding of India through briefings, dialogues, and future study tours. The group joins FMC’s other study programs in Europe, Germany, Japan, and Korea.
