Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk shared that his partner, Shivon Zilis, is half Indian and they have a son with an Indian middle name. Speaking to Zerodha founder Nikhil Kamath on his podcast 'WTF is?', Musk talked about his partner's heritage, his nod to an Indian scientist and about immigrations from India.
Elon Musk's partner Shivon Zilis is a Canadian tech executive and venture capitalist. Zilis joined Musk's AI company, Neuralink, in 2017 and is currently the Director of Operations and Special Projects. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Philosophy from Yale University.
Musk revealed that Zilis' father was an exchange student in Canada and she was given up for adoption soon after her birth.

Musk explained, "She grew up in Canada. She was given up for adoption when she was a baby. I think her father was like an exchange student at the university or something like that."
He added, "I'm not sure the exact details, but you know it was kind of a thing where I don't know, she was given up for adoption. But she grew up in Canada.
The tech billionaire also revealed that one of his sons with Zilis has an Indian middle name, Sekhar. The name is an ode to Indian-American physicist and Nobel laureate Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar.

Musk also talked about the contributions made by Indians to America's growth as a tech leader. He said, "America has been an immense beneficiary of talent from India, but that seems to be changing now."
The comments came at a time when the Donald Trump administration has heightened Visa scrutiny and displayed erratic shifts in the country's visa policy.
