Performances include live sets performed by the Indian Performing Arts Center, Rangoli Dance Company, Soorya Foundation Ensemble, and The Music Circle. Special guest Akshara, a singer-songwriter, will bring a fusion of Indian classical training with R&B, pop, and alternative influences.
Additional on-site experiences feature Indo-Global cuisine available from the Indulgia food truck. Vendors and activities include pop-up henna services from Miz Mehndi, a tea-making station offering loose-leaf teas from regenerative organic certified estates courtesy of expert tea blender Smita Satiani, educational resources and hands-on composting from LA Compost, and non-partisan voter registration and civic engagement opportunities from the LA City Clerk.
The event is organized by Go As If and receives support from Los Angeles Recreation and Parks and the office of Council District 3 Councilmember Bob Blumenfield. Organizers describe the afternoon as a celebration of Earth Day and Indian-American cultural traditions featuring music, classical Indian dance, and art-making.
