AI scientist Gayathri Raghupathy appointed Novartis Executive Director

She transitioned to Novartis after a 6-year-stint at Kognitic, which she left after becoming the company's Chief Security Officer in March 2025.

New York based AI scientist Gayathri Raghupathy was recently appointed as the Executive Director, AI & Process Excellence at US by healthcare giant Novartis.

In her new role, Raghupathy will collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage AI, redesign key processes, and deploy scalable intelligent solutions.

She transitioned to Novartis after a 6-year-stint at Kognitic, which she left after becoming the company's Chief Security Officer in March 2025.

Raghupathy holds a degree in Engineering from the Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology and Research Academy in Tamil Nadu, a Master's degree in Biotechnology from The University of Texas at Dallas and a PhD in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology from the Graduate Center, City University of New York.

Talking about her appointment, she said on LinkedIn, "In this role, I will be working with some amazing teams to harness AI, reimagine processes and scale intelligent solutions that free us to focus on what matters most: science and patients."

She added, "Grateful for the journey from the lab to medical communications to building AI products in a startup environment, and for the incredible partners who helped shape this path. There’s so much to learn and grow into, and I can’t imagine a better place than Novartis, with its deep commitment to innovation and patients."
