Waystar Holding, a kentucky-based healthcare payment software provider, has appointed Indian-American tech executive Aashima Gupta to its board of directors.
Currently serving as global director of healthcare strategy and solutions at Google Cloud, Gupta brings deep expertise in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and digital health strategy.

At Google Cloud, she has led major healthcare AI initiatives aimed at improving access, efficiency, and care outcomes at scale. Her work involves collaborating with healthcare executives to design transformative models for care delivery, patient experience, and financial performance.
Gupta also serves on the boards of Neogen, Mölnlycke Health Care, and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) global health advisory board. She has been widely recognized in the industry, most recently named one of Modern Healthcare’s Top 10 Executives to Watch in 2024 and previously honored among the Most Influential Women in Healthcare IT by HIMSS.
Alongside Gupta, Michael Roman, former executive chairman of the board and chief executive officer of 3M was appointed to the board. "They bring distinguished experience and expertise at the intersection of innovation, healthcare, and enterprise leadership. Their perspectives and strategic acumen will help guide our continued growth and innovation as we advance our mission to simplify healthcare payments and continue delivering long-term value to our clients, shareholders, and team members,” said Matt Hawkins, said chief executive officer at Waystar.
Gupta holds a master’s in computer science from the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad, a BS in computer science from Delhi University, and completed an executive medical education program at Harvard Medical School.
