The King County Superior Court in Washington has charged 30-year-old Indian software engineer Avinash Narne with one count of first-degree homicide.

Filed on July 1, the charge follows a months-long homicide investigation by the Bellevue Police Department. Narne remains in custody at the King County Jail on $5 million bail.
According to Bellevue police, detectives with the department's Major Crimes Unit continued investigating the case after officers responded to the apartment last October. Police said evidence gathered during the investigation, along with information obtained through interviews, led investigators to arrest him on suspicion of first-degree homicide.
Following his arrest, Narne was processed at the Bellevue Police Department before being booked into the King County Jail. Prosecutors subsequently reviewed the case and filed a formal charge of first-degree homicide in King County Superior Court.
Authorities have not publicly disclosed additional details regarding the evidence supporting the charge or the alleged circumstances surrounding Sabbineni's death. Bellevue police said the investigation remains ongoing and that further information will be released as it becomes available.
