The US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) has expanded into Canada, appointing senior journalist and policy analyst Maha Siddiqui as its first employee in the country.
USISPF said Siddiqui will serve as director, policy and strategy, Canada, marking the organization’s formal entry into the Canadian market as part of its broader North America expansion.

According to the Forum, its expansion into Canada is aimed at tapping into investment and strategic opportunities between the United States and India. Over the years, the forum has positioned itself as a platform for countries seeking to invest in both markets.

Siddiqui brings more than two decades of experience in journalism and public policy analysis. She previously worked with NDTV 24x7, where she launched the international news program “India Global,” and with CNN-News18, where she anchored prime-time programs including “World 360.”
As a senior foreign affairs editor, Siddiqui covered India’s foreign policy, national politics, Parliament, and major global summits. Her reporting included the G7 Summit in Kananaskis, the G20 Summit in Bali, the Quad summit in Washington, the SCO Summit in Samarkand, and the Trump-Putin summit in Alaska. She also reported on the humanitarian crisis emerging from the war in Ukraine and covered India’s relations with China and Pakistan.
Beyond broadcast journalism, Siddiqui has worked in public policy roles. As a consultant with the Global Green Growth Institute while at the University of British Columbia, she led a multi-phase project on clean heating in Mongolia.
She has also contributed to nuclear energy policy research on Small Modular Reactors and delivered reports on immigration during her time with the Government of British Columbia’s Immigration Policy and Integration Branch.
Siddiqui holds a master of public policy and global affairs from the University of British Columbia, a postgraduate diploma in journalism from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, and a bachelor’s in science in Botany from Miranda House, University of Delhi.
She is a Chevening Scholar at Bournemouth University in the United Kingdom and has attended the International Visitors Leadership Program in the United States.
