Indian American Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi, who is the Ranking Member of the House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party, has sharply criticized reports that the Trump administration is granting export licenses to semiconductor giants Nvidia and AMD in exchange for a 15 percent cut of their China chip sales revenue.
Calling the alleged arrangement “a dangerous misuse of export controls,” Krishnamoorthi said the move undermines U.S. national security.
