Traffic violation turns into deportation ordeal for trucker Sukhdeep

Singh holds a California Driving licence and is allegedly in the U.S. illegally

A routine traffic stop in Arizona has spelled disaster for truck-driver Sukhdeep Singh with Border Security now processing his deportation.

Quartzsite police pulled over Singh for allegedly running a red light and a stop sign. As the police checked his papers, it was discovered that Singh was an Indian national and was allegedly in the United States illegally.

The police contacted agents from the U.S. Border Patrol at the Blythe Station to verify his immigration status and the Border Patrol initiated deportation procedures.

The United States Border Patrol, Yuma Sector, reported on X, "Quartzsite police pulled over Sukhdeep Singh after he ran a red light and a stop sign. Officers contacted Blythe Station Border Patrol agents who determined Singh is an Indian national that was illegally in the United States, despite being in possession of California commercial driver’s license. Singh will be processed for deportation under 8 USC 1182."
