Synaptics names Rahul Patel CEO

He will lead the company’s innovation and global expansion in AI, wireless connectivity, and edge-computing technologies.

Synaptics, a California-based AI-powered solutions company, has appointed veteran semiconductor executive Rahul Patel as its new president and chief executive officer. 

In a statement, the company announced that Patel will succeed Ken Rizvi, who had been serving as interim CEO since February 2025 and will continue in his role as chief financial officer. Additionally, Patel will serve on the company's board of directors.

With over 30 years of leadership experience in the semiconductor industry, Patel has a record of spearheading innovation and growth across high-performance wireless connectivity, networking, and edge-AI applications. 

Most recently, he served as senior vice president and group general manager at Qualcomm, overseeing the connectivity, broadband, and networking group—a multi-billion-dollar portfolio. His tenure at Qualcomm followed 13 successful years at Broadcom, where he played a pivotal role in expanding the company’s global leadership in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS technologies.

“Rahul’s deep expertise with wireless connectivity, coupled with his proven track record of launching successful product lines and developing high-performing global teams, will be instrumental in advancing our technology roadmap and driving long-term growth,”said Nelson Chan, chairman of the board. 

Patel expressed his enthusiasm for the new role, stating, “I am truly honored and excited to join Synaptics.
