A select group of 600 Indian Americans filled the crowded East Room of the White House on the evening of President Joe Biden’s final Diwali celebration of his term. Attendees expressed awe and surprise at the recognition of Diwali as a symbol of resilience. After the formal lighting of a Diwali diya, President Biden addressed the gathering, sharing a heartfelt message in honor of the festival.
