Sunita Williams in Delhi / X (IIT Delhi)
Indian-American NASA astronaut Sunita Williams on Jan. 20 described her visit to India as a homecoming, saying the country holds deep personal significance for her as it is her father’s birthplace.
Speaking at a session at the American Center in New Delhi, Williams said one of the first things astronauts do after reaching space is look for their home. She is currently on her first visit to India after returning to Earth following a nine-month stay aboard the International Space Station (ISS).
