Suchitra Kamath recognized for franchise consulting

Active in the franchise industry since 2016, she continues to expand her firm’s reach while guiding new business owners.

Indian-American entrepreneur Suchitra Kamath was recently included in Marquis Who’s Who, as a leading franchise consultant, helping investors and entrepreneurs discover business opportunities. 

Kamath founded Business Karma to connect investors and entrepreneurs with opportunities suited to their lifestyle, goals and budgets. She also advises nonprofit organizations, drawing on her broad experience in business strategy and growth. Active in the franchise industry since 2016, she has built a reputation for helping individuals pursue sustainable ventures.

Before launching her entrepreneurial career, Kamath held senior positions in global banking. She served as vice president at Citigroup where she worked in client management and product development on the trading floor. Later, she joined Barclays Investment Bank in New York City, working in the chief operating officer’s office for the Americas. 

Beyond business, Kamath has emerged as a civic leader. She was appointed by New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy to the New Jersey-India Commission and serves on the Middlesex County Board of Social Services. She also leads organizations that promote women in politics, including Inspiring South Asian American Women.

Her accolades include the Rising Star Entrepreneurial Award from the New Jersey Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards and recognition from U.S. Senator Bob Menendez during Immigrant Heritage Month in 2020.

Her academic background includes a master’s degree in library and information sciences from Rutgers University and a bachelor’s degree in instrument technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. She is also certified as a project management professional (PMP) and as a food protection manager (CFPM).
