The Sikh Federation UK held a protest march in Hayes, west London, following the killing of 24-year-old Kirandeep Kaur, calling attention to what it described as limited public and media response to the case.
The organization said the "spontaneous" march took place outside the home where Kaur was killed, according to a post on its official X account.

"A spontaneous Protest March held in Hayes outside the home and scene of the murder of our young sister, Kirandeep Kaur. This incident is shocking to the core, but the lack of outrage in the public and community and limited coverage in the media is very worrying!" the Federation said in the post.
The organization added that Sikhs should continue to speak against hatred, inequality and injustice, using hashtags including #Justice4Kirandeep and #AntiSikhHate.
In an earlier post, the Sikh Federation said Kaur had been fatally stabbed in Hayes and that a man in his 20s had been arrested and charged with murder. The group said investigations were ongoing to determine whether any racial or religious hate crime was involved in the attack.
The Federation also tagged the Metropolitan Police, Thames Valley Police, the U.K. Home Office and 10 Downing Street in its post, questioning whether the Sikh community was being adequately supported in response to attacks.
According to the Metropolitan Police, officers were called to reports of a stabbing at a property on Uxbridge Road in Hayes at around 7:55 a.m. on Sunday, July 12. Officers attended the scene with the London Ambulance Service and found a 24-year-old woman with stab injuries.
Despite efforts by emergency responders, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Police identified the victim as Kirandeep Kaur and said her next of kin had been informed and were receiving support from specialist officers.
A man in his 20s was also found outside the property with stab injuries. He remained in hospital, and his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, according to police.
The Metropolitan Police said Daniel Sean James, 44, of Mercer Place, Pinner, was charged on July 13 with murder, attempted murder and possession of a bladed article. He appeared before Willesden Magistrates' Court on July 14.
The Sikh Federation UK has previously campaigned on issues affecting Sikh communities in the U.K., including concerns over hate crimes and discrimination.
