Former Indian Ambassador to the United States and Rajya Sabha Member Harsh Vardhan Shringla on Aug.26 said that both governments are hopeful of concluding a “mutually beneficial free trade agreement” and exuded confidence that the bilateral relationship would soon regain the high momentum of recent years.
Speaking at a reception hosted by the Indian American Business Impact Group (IAMBIG), Shringla described the India-U.S. partnership as the “defining relationship of the 21st century” and emphasised the vital role the diaspora must play in sustaining it. “This relationship is too important and too vital — not only in geopolitical terms, but also in economic terms,” he told a packed hall of Indian American entrepreneurs and community leaders.
