With over three years of professional experience in the hospitality industry, Kapur has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to culinary excellence. At Rosewood London, he is responsible for managing kitchen operations in accordance with hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) standards, overseeing food quality and safety, and leading team training initiatives. His expertise extends to inventory control, menu development, food preparation, and implementing service improvements.

"So excited to be in the Finals for National Chef Of the Year. It's such a great feeling and I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and to the final day, when all the top 10 participants get to cook their best,” Kapur said.

A graduate in Hospitality and Hotel Administration from the Institute of Hotel Management, Mumbai, Kapur was previously recognized as the winner of The Vegan Master Chef Challenge during his academic tenure.

Kapur was selected from a highly competitive pool of candidates, following a rigorous judging process led by Matt Abé, Chef de Cuisine at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay. This year’s panel also included renowned chefs Lisa Goodwin-Allen, Cherish Finden, Hrishikesh Desai, and others. Judges praised the high calibre of entrants and the balanced representation of both returning competitors and first-time finalists.

Abé said, “I’m proud that during my time as chair of judges, we’ve attracted talent from across the industry; from retail and the armed forces to independent restaurants, contract catering and hospitality groups. This competition is truly open to all, judged solely on the quality of the menus and dishes submitted.”

This year’s winner will be decided by a grand final held on October 7 at the University of West London, followed by an awards ceremony at the Hippodrome Casino in Leicester Square.
